Krabi is a region on the west coast of the mainland. Although not an island, some of the area’s resort beaches are only accessible by boat due to the unique geography of the area with towering, dramatic limestone cliffs which also attract rock climbers from around the world. This area also covers the islands of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta.

The main resort town in Ao Nang which is road accessible from the airport. From here, beaches such as Railay are reached by boat. Thai style ‘long tail’ boats criss cross the area providing shared or private transport and can be hired to visit deserted beaches on one of the many islands offshore.
